Finally we found out with whom we will be working with and what boat that will constitute our home for some time to come: La Bella Vita.
Aaron and Carl will be my bunkmates for the next three weeks, together with twelve 15-yearold shipmates (students) that we will teach everything we know, not very much unlike papa Baloo in the jungle book. Much of the knowledge we will share will be pure nonsense; like how you can squish a soda can effortlessly or how to split an apple in half just by using your hands. But a substantial amount of the things we will teach those that we have taken under our wings will be things that the shipmates will benefit from for the rest of their lives. Apart from finding out what boat that will carry us safely on our journey around the British Virgin Islands, today presented an opportunity for a quick dive around the docks to check that my scuba equipment actually worked correctly. It proved to be a quite good dive, with large tarpons casually hanging out around the boats. We also found two lobsters sharing housing with a sea urchin in a bucket that once had been dropped over board by some unfortunate seafarer. Altogether it was a good day in the Caribbean.
