Summer ending

All the students are gone and all but two boats have left the dock. What was once an impressive fleet of Action Quest vessels is now an anonymous scatter of boats and staff that is wandering the docks, all preparing for departure day. The processing of all impressions and events from the summer past can wait. Now everyone is trying to treasure and hold on to the little time that is left, whilst trying to work as hard as possible so that everything can get done. I was sent to the airport again, saying goodbye to the last of our shipmates. It was a strange feeling watching them leave. Soon I would be leaving too. After having worked extremely closely to so many amazing people it is at this point hard to admit to oneself the inevitable – summer is ending, and we all have to go back to our “real lives”. Yesterday night was the final summer party to celebrate what we have accomplished, but also to enjoy each other’s company for the last time. Tomorrow I’m flying home. It feels surreal.
