Current location: Bocas del Toro, Panama
Costa Rican immigration laws require me to leave every ninety days. Poor me, I am forced to take vacation... After a rather long and sketchy journey I finally find myself in Bocas del Toro, Panama - one of the hidden gems for surfing in the Caribbean. As much as I might be excited for the possibility of amazing waves, I must admit that this is not the reason for my choice of location. For the past two summers I have worked for a company located in the British Virgin Islands (see previous posts) sailing the islands for a little less than three months at a time. I have grown to like the Caribbean more than I could have ever anticipated. Now, of course not all islands in the Caribbean are the same and assuming their equality to one another would not really be a correct train of thought. I know this. But, sitting on the taxi ride getting closer to my destination hearing the taxi driver speak Spanish, but with that typical Caribbean accent that I have come to love, I feel nothing but pure joy. I felt at home. I knew that I was following a path with a heart.
