Good morning

The symphony created by a dock full of shimmering boats is fantastic to fall asleep to, but it is even better to wake up and realize that it is still there. It’s never quiet on a dock; the docks are always producing sounds in perfect rhythm and harmony to that of the clucking created by the waves. The masts of the sailing boats join in by whipping their hoisting lines enthusiastically, and every now and then you have a fender who falls for the group pressure and squeals out a pip. And of course, you always have the duck that mocks you laughing when you can’t start your outboard engine. For some reason I wake up earlier when I live on boats, and for reasons perhaps not as unknown, I feel more motivated to get up in the morning. One can say many bad things about Sweden and it’s unpredictable weather and unforgiving climate, but there is just no other place in the world that is as beautiful as the Swedish archipelago glimmering in the morning light. This fleeting world of perfection just lasts an hour or two, before the harsh reality clamps on in – and I’m going to enjoy every single minute of it. Good morning world!
