First day all over again

The first session ended two of days ago, and a new one started today. In between I had a day off that was enough to rejuvenate my sleep deprived self and get me stoked about the next batch of student’s coming. The turn around time from one session ending to another one starting is just about as short as it can get, and the days in between is highly productive, most probably more so than any other company I have ever seen or worked with. Normally, I’d run around feeling overwhelmed and slightly stressed about the fact that 200-ish students were on their way to the dock without my boat being prepared for it. This year, with my role as a dive director I found myself worried about all of the other boats that weren’t mine. In a way that was more relaxing and gave me great satisfaction. The other two crewmembers on Celestial Storm this session are new to the program and I figured what better way to teach someone than to let them fly solo. I checked in on them often, but they were killing it so I didn’t feel a need to come in and mandate things. As of right now I have twelve very happy and excited shipmates sleeping on my boat, out of which most of them are probably sleeping in a boat for the first time. Hopefully they will all have sweet dreams about sailing, scuba and other shenanigans.

The dream team for session 2 on Celestial Storm
