Current location: 46°50’16’’ N 2°27’36’’W On the water between Ile D'Yeu and Belle Ile

The weather had shifted from sunny to cloudy when I woke up. I put on a good amount of clothes but was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn’t very cold. Yesterday when we docked we had somewhat of an audience looking at us with eyes as big as plates. Partly due to the size of the boat, I am sure, but also because of its design. Apparently, aluminum boats are culturally established as being great boats in these waters, and in contrast to their abundance in Sweden, every other boat on the docks seem to be a French aluminum boat. So in the promise land for French aluminum boats, a Swedish constructed boat with no comparison rolls in and docks like it’s nothing. So in a way I can understand why our presence drew so much attention. I have always liked docking boats, I like the pressure of everyone judging your talent, and I have always done better under pressure. And quite honestly, I enjoy the attention that serves as a receipt of what an amazing opportunity this is to sail a boat that really is one of a kind. Today we are going a shorter distance than yesterday, to an island called Belle Ile. I know very little about it, but judging by it’s name “Beautiful Island”, I am sure that I will enjoy it.
