Bye bye Italy - Hello Spain!

After having eaten pizza almost every day for the past weeks, we are, for our own well-beings sake, ready to leave Italy. We can confirm that Italians eat pizza like it’s their job. We tried our best, but we can’t quite match their consumption. We can also back up the claim that their pizza is good (although I suppose the only one to disagree with that fact would be my father). Pizzas aside, sailing the southern coast of Italy has been quite an experience. I think that of all the places I have sailed in the world, I have never seen a coastline so beautiful. The clarity of the water, particularly in Sardinia, is unreal. I would stare down in the water for hours. The blue color is mesmerizing. The little towns on the mainland of southern Italy weren’t, however, as picturesque as I would have liked them to be. And the city of Bari and Lecce were downright depressing. But Sicily and Sardinia made up for it. Big time. We are now heading toward the little Island of Menorca, Spain. Menorca is still one of my favorite places in the world. It was there my journey to start working abroad began, and I cannot describe how excited I am to revisit it after 7 years of wanting to go back. And going back there on a sailboat is a dream coming true. I am excited.
