Dolphins and more dolphins

You can hear them gossip between each other, the dolphins, just before they jump. It’s a most adorable squeaking sound, and it is impossible to not respond with a smile. Sometimes you’ll catch one of them looking up at you, and you look back. Happy. Because if there is something on this earth that never gets old – it is watching dolphins play at your boat’s bow. With the waves that roll by, I’m so close to them that I can almost touch them. Almost. But I don’t. If they wanted to be touched they would jump higher. Since heading from the sound of Gibraltar we have seen dolphins multiple times a day every day. And every time they make me happy. They come at night too. You can spot them by the white line they leave behind in the water as they pass you. I’d like to think that they’re checking in on me when I’m doing my watches.
